Foraging 101 - 4 Week Series (4 of 4)

Foraging 101 - 4 Weeks
from 45.00

Tuesdays 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

June 12th | June 19th | June 26th | July 3rd

Do you ever wonder what's growing right outside your front door? Did you know that many of our most common "weeds" are delicious edibles and powerful natural remedies? Connect with the spirit of the land as herbalist Will Endres guides us through the natural world around the Triangle area of NC.

Anyone can forage — all you need are a few basic supplies! Students will be introduced to the basics of botany, and learn how to sustainably forage for their own food and medicine. Introduction to Foraging is designed to be the perfect starting place for beginning foragers.  The class is also suitable for experienced foragers interested in refreshing their botanical ID skills as well as those who want to explore the seasonal bounty of the Piedmont more closely.

We’ll be sure to cover:

  • Foraging for edible and medicinal plants and herbs

  • Botany basics

  • Sustainable Harvesting & Ethical Wildcrafting Practices

  • Making tinctures

  • Drying and preserving techniques

Each class in this series will focus on the topics listed above but varied herbs will be gathered throughout the class series based on seasonal availability.

Daytrippers are always welcome!
