Spring Greens and Tonics - 8 Week Series

Delve into the variety of Spring herbals and edibles that can be found within 20 or so minutes of Hillsborough. Students can expect to get hands on experience making and tasting Spring Greens & Salads, Tonics, and Potherbs. This class is adaptable to fit all levels of experience and, on the first day, we’ll design our curriculum as a group. Potential areas of study include everything listed above PLUS specific plants such as Yellow Dock (Urinary tract), Chickweed (Water retention), Cleavers (Used in conjunction with Chickweed), and Sassafras (Blood purification).

Meeting Location

Our first meeting is at Gold Park in Hillsborough's West End.  The address for the park is 415 Dimmocks Mill Rd, Hillsborough, NC, 27278.  We will meet there and carpool as we travel to places within a 20 minute drive of Hillsborough.

Packing List:

Our classes take place rain or shine so you should always come prepared for expected inclement weather.  

You may or may not have all the required items on the list laying around, so please read it carefully before you head out the door.  We want to make sure that you have the best possible experience!

Required

  • 8.5" x 11"

  • Spiral bound notebook

  • Roll of 3/4" clear scotch tape

  • Sunscreen/Hat

  • Cold weather clothing as appropriate

  • Rain Jacket/Pants/Shoes

  • Daypack

  • At least 1 Qt water

  • Snacks/Light Lunch

  • Small roll of gallon ziplock bags

Always be sure to prepare for any kind of weather.  If it's raining or wet out, we strongly recommend you wear polyester clothing for maximum comfort.
