Family Foraging

from 15.00

A special Fall Saturday outing for the whole family. This half day class will teach you the basics of foraging for plants and herbs so you can keep your family happy and healthy.

While mom and dad are getting hands on experience gathering and making home remedies, including - Salves, Teas, and Fluid Extracts, Kids 6-12 will go on a special nature outing along the Eno River, complete with crafts, games, and plenty of time to explore.

Parents will learn how to make and address:

  • Tasty herbal teas for kids & families

  • Cuts, scrapes, and bumps

  • Upset stomachs

  • Hyperactivity & sadness, stress, & anxiety

Kids will go on a outdoor adventure through Gold Park in Hillsborough. They will have plenty of games to play, lots of time to explore, and come home with handmade crafts and newfound confidence.

There is a maximum of 12 kids to maintain an optimum staff to child ratio of 6:1 so make sure and register early to reserve your spot.

This outing is Rain or Shine, and backup locations will be provided. Be sure to pack your child a change of clothes and shoes, rain sun and bug protection, and a nutritious lunch.

Parents and kids will end the day by coming back together, and going on a nature hike so that the whole family can share what they have learned!
